Applicants must be sufficiently qualified as a Journeyman Lineman or Apprentice Lineman and be able to do necessary emergency repair work. Some examples of those activities will include:
• Maintain and update the company’s capitalization policy and provide fixed asset accounting guidance to all areas of the organization.
• Develop, monitor, and analyze various loading and clearing rates to assess the appropriateness of cost allocations and recommend adjustments as needed.

• Monitor, review, and interpret new or revised accounting standards and publications from the FASB, SEC, or FERC, and assist with implementation.

OTP is seeking a full-time Relay Technician to be located in Jamestown, ND.
Relay Technicians’ days vary, some duties will include making periodic tests of differential, directional, overcurrent, underfrequency, and other types of relays in service in Otter Tail Power Company substations. Test and adjust new relays as they are received prior to initial installation and maintain records on all new relays. They must be able to operate all test equipment. The candidate will be required to specialize in relay testing and be very knowledgeable in system protective schemes. They will make minor print revision and prepare reports on substation protective scheme checkout. They will travel throughout the entire system and perform all duties in a manner consistent with all company safety rules and use equipment and protection as required.
We’re seeking candidates who have a thorough knowledge of all electrical equipment and testing instruments. The candidate must have three to five years' experience as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience. Their Educational background should include electrical or electronics trade school associate degree. They must be able to work with fellow employees and be free to travel to all parts of the system.
