Temporary Summer Hire at Coyote Station

Location

Beulah, ND

Responsibilities

Otter Tail Power Company has an opening for a temporary hire at Coyote Station, a 420 MW coal-fired electric generating station near Beulah, ND.

Qualifications

Job duties include mowing, trimming, painting, lifting, cleaning, and other responsibilities.

The applicant must be 18 at time of application, a 2025 high school graduate or currently enrolled in college, able to lift 40-50 pounds, operate a tractor mower and have a current valid driver’s license. The expected base compensation for this role is $17.00 per hour.

Regulatory Filing Coordinator

In this role, the Regulatory Filing Coordinator will coordinate and organize the preparation and follow through of information and documentation associated with regulatory filings, as necessary for state commissions and agencies, NERC, and FERC.

Some examples of activities include:

·        Evaluate the work-flow and file management processes and submit recommendations for efficiency improvements

·        Finalize and execute timely regulatory filings with acute attention to detail

·        Establish and maintain a very good working relationship with other departments and when necessary external agencies

Software Engineer

Survey Intern

Position Type: Temporary, Full-time, Summer Intern

Duration: May 2025 through August or September 2025

Location: Fergus Falls General Office, Split time of fieldwork and office work

Overview: Otter Tail Power Company has an opening for a temporary, full-time, summer intern position for a student pursuing Land Surveying. The Survey Technician Summer Intern will gain valuable experience while working toward proficiency in assigned field and office duties. The intern will work under the supervision of experienced staff to ensure that field projects are completed to company standards and within budget and timeline constraints. The intern will learn how to set up construction staking jobs using data from engineers. The intern will work with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center in the office and Trimble data collection equipment in the field, including conventional, GNSS, scanner, and drone technology.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned tasks while complying with established field procedures; ensure that the field data is in the proper format.
  • Take photos or make sketches of monuments, structures, topography, trees, etc., to assist office personnel and drafting technicians visualize conditions.
  • Report to and communicate with the Survey Team. Communication is key to keeping projects on schedule.
  • Download data collected electronically to the proper job and file. Assist in reducing data to usable format.
  • Use proper safety equipment and follow proper field safety procedures.
  • Portray a professional appearance by wearing the appropriate clothing for the work environment.
  • Review site plans, topographic surveys, and plats prior to delivery.
  • Perform all other assigned duties; and duties as they develop.
  • Process field data using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
