·         Coordinate cost estimate and forecasts for internal and external projects.

·         Facilitate required meetings.

Lead Lineman

Devils Lake, ND

Responsibilities

Successful applicant will supervise, direct and work with the crew to erect and install, maintain or repair overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems and substations; where necessary, frame and erect poles and attach necessary fixtures and equipment; string, sag and splice conductors (wires) and connect transformer and other equipment; trim trees, replace such equipment as broken insulators, split crossarms, cutouts, ties, faulty clamps or braces; and perform similar replacement or repair work as necessary on routine patrol or to clear up storm damage. Use electrical instruments, operate hydraulic equipment, and work out of an aerial basket.

Qualifications

Must be a Journeyman Lineman with a diploma from an accredited line worker program or have equivalent experience. Must have an unrestricted interstate commercial driver’s license; positive leadership qualities and show an ability to plan, supervise and work with people and tools; an interest in teaching people working on the crew the lineman trade; thorough knowledge of electric line and underground construction, maintenance and repair; be able to work outdoors in any weather, able to climb, understand the mechanical equipment used in the trade, and have the ability to get along well with others. Supervisor Transaction Accounting & Security Risk Management

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records by overseeing and managing daily accounting operations for accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash collection areas of the accounting department and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position requires a highly organized, enthusiastic, team-oriented professional that can foster positive relationships within the organization and external parties.

Key Responsibilities

·   Successful applicant will supervise, direct and work with the accounting transaction teams in AP, AR, and cash collections.

·   Coach and support staff, provide feedback as well as lead training and development for staff.

·   Lead month-end close procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.

·   Will collaborate with all levels of leadership within our accounting department and corporate treasury department.

·   Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments, proper coding, and compliance with internal controls.

·   Facilitate the activities related to security risk management for the organization, including reviewing financial institutions, negotiating security terms, and ensuring security doesn’t lapse.

·   Administer the purchase card and fuel credit-card programs and coordinate with employees and vendors.

·   Supervise non-CIS accounts receivable system and incoming cash receipts.

·   Administrator for the Oracle A/R system, cash forecasting and management of daily cash position, and forecasting and management of capital needs during next 12-24 months. 

·   Administer Transaction Accounting related system upgrades, internal controls, and documentation.

·   Provide support for internal and external audit and other ad-hoc projects.

·   Review and own process narratives to ensure all controls are fully implemented and functioning as designed.

Qualifications

·   Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance or equivalent, relevant experience is required.

·   Requires knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, cash systems and processing, and security risk management.

·   Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and develop a team.

·   Excellent knowledge of ERP accounting systems (Oracle Fusion preferred) and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills).

·   A keen understanding of transaction processes, upstream and downstream considerations, and leading practices in these areas to identify and drive process improvements are essential for success.

·   Superior attention to detail, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

·   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity.

·   Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

·   Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Journeyman or Well-Qualified Apprentice Electrician

Fergus Falls, MN

Responsibilities

Otter Tail Power Company has an opening for a Journeyman or Well-Qualified Apprentice Electrician located in Fergus Falls, MN.

You’ll assemble and erect high voltage steel substations and all associated electrical equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, motor mechanisms, instrument transformers, switches, and capacitors and perform other tasks as assigned. Must be able to understand wiring schematics and other prints used during fabrication and wiring of relay panels and other electrical apparatus. You’ll be required to work from ladders and hydraulic basket trucks at various heights. Work may be indoors or outdoors, winter and summer, and will require travel to all parts of the Otter Tail Power Company system.

This position will be under the direct supervision of the Electrical Crew Foreman or receive only periodic supervision while the Foreman is on another job assignment. Consideration for safety is foremost. It is required the person in this position perform all duties in accordance with Company safety rules regarding equipment and personal protection.

Qualifications

For this position, we require a minimum of two years technical school, with a working knowledge of schematics and function of electrical apparatus. Must perform assignments safely, using good judgment, with a sense of responsibility and the ability to work well with others. Must be free to travel to all parts of the Otter Tail Power Company system and work under various conditions. A valid driver's license is required.

Journeyman or Apprentice Electrical Line Worker

Responsibilities

OTP is seeking a full-time Journeymen or Apprentice Electrical Line Worker to be temporarily located in Bemidji, MN.

Line Workers’ days vary, and some duties will include maintaining or repairing overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems and substations. They’ll also frame and erect poles and attach necessary fixtures and equipment. They’ll string, sag, and splice conductors (wires) and connect transformers and other equipment, trim trees, replace such equipment as broken insulators, split crossarms, cutouts, ties, faulty clamps, or braces, and perform similar replacement or repair work as necessary to clear up storm damage.

Qualifications

We’re seeking candidates who have a diploma from an accredited line worker program and a valid, unrestricted interstate commercial driver's license. Candidates must have knowledge of electric line construction, maintenance, and repair, be able to work outdoors in any weather, be able to climb, have complete knowledge of safety rules and can get along well with others. The selected candidates will be expected to learn to use electrical instruments, to operate hydraulic equipment and to work out of an aerial basket. We also have a comprehensive apprenticeship program designed to develop great journeymen line workers. Any candidate selected will be expected to reside within 17 miles from the headquarters in Bemidji, MN.
