Brad Tollerson was named Vice President, Energy Supply, in September 2017. He's accountable for our company’s power plants, renewable energy, supply engineering, and generation development—allowing him to provide leadership for Big Stone Plant and Coyote Station—as well as company-owned wind and solar energy generation, natural gas generation, and peaking units. Brad is also accountable for Environmental Services, Resource Planning, and Power Services, which includes wholesale energy market operations, energy and ancillary services procurement for customers, and load optimization.
Brad began his career with Otter Tail Power Company in 1997 as Electrical Engineer in the System Operations Department. He joined the Power Services Department in 2001 as Senior Project Engineer and advanced to Principal Coordinator in 2002 and to Manager, Power Services, in June 2012. Brad became Director, Power Services and Resource Planning, in December 2012, and was named Vice President, Planning and Strategy, in June 2014.
A native of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Brad earned his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1996 and his master’s degree in business administration in 2004 from North Dakota State University. He completed the University of Idaho Energy Executive Course in 2023. Brad is also a Registered Professional Engineer in Minnesota, and has held leadership positions with several community organizations.
