Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for a Lead Lineman in Harvey, ND.

Successful applicant will supervise, direct and work with the crew to erect and install, maintain or repair overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems and substations; where necessary, frame and erect poles and attach necessary fixtures and equipment; string, sag and splice conductors (wires) and connect transformer and other equipment; trim trees, replace such equipment as broken insulators, split crossarms, cutouts, ties, faulty clamps or braces; and perform similar replacement or repair work as necessary on routine patrol or to clear up storm damage. Use electrical instruments, operate hydraulic equipment, and work out of an aerial basket.

Qualifications

We have an immediate opening for a Lead Lineman in Harvey, ND.

Must be a Journeyman Lineman with a diploma from an accredited line worker program or have equivalent experience. Must have an unrestricted interstate commercial driver’s license; positive leadership qualities and show an ability to plan, supervise and work with people and tools; an interest in teaching people working on the crew the lineman trade; thorough knowledge of electric line and underground construction, maintenance and repair; be able to work outdoors in any weather, able to climb, understand the mechanical equipment used in the trade, and have the ability to get along well with others. Industrial Services Engineer

Responsibilities

At Otter Tail Power, our employees help us serve the communities we support by producing reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible electricity. In this role, the Industrial Services Engineer will support, manage, and grow our key customers by implementing new technology or management tools.

Examples of those activities will include:

· Lead the energy transition by developing customer adoption strategies for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and dynamic load management programs.

· Develop and implement tools for estimating and comparing costs of various customer scenarios, including: rates, billing impact, energy savings, rebates, return on investment, etc.

· Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers at three levels (Day-To-Day, Managerial, Executive) within a strategic customer's organization.

· Collaborate with cross functional teams to create and communicate marketing programs, services, technologies, and energy rates.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for the customers, including during times of power quality and reliability challenges, to meet sales goals.

· Establish relationships and negotiate with potential strategic customers to establish new electric service agreements. Includes facilitating design, system implications and ‘cost of service’ studies.

· Travel to assigned customer facilities [1-4] times per month to understand critical operations, Otter Tail’s service delivery, impact of outages, load growth, reliability requirements and identify potential enhanced service solutions.

Administrative Assistant in Customer Care

We have an opening for an Administrative Assistant in the Customer Care Department in Fergus Falls, MN.

Qualifications

A two-year business or administrative assistant degree or equivalent work experience is required. Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Must have excellent writing, organization, interpersonal communications, work prioritization and data collection skills. Must be able to problem solve and understand information to facilitate compiling and tracking of action items for multiple projects; and adapt to managing multiple data computer systems. Must have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. High attention to detail is critical. 

 Provide administrative support for multiple areas including, Customer Care, Customer Service, Sales & Program Implementation, Retail Energy Solutions, and Customer Experience. This position also provides backup support to areas such as the Customer Service Centers, and the General Office switchboard. Property Accounting Analyst

In this role, the Property Accounting Analyst will support the accuracy of our financial statements through reporting and analysis of the company’s fixed assets.

Some examples of those activities will include:

  • Maintain and update the company’s capitalization policy and provide fixed asset accounting guidance to all areas of the organization.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze various loading and clearing rates to assess the appropriateness of cost allocations and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Support depreciation and asset retirement obligation activities
  • Assessing costs and units of property for large capital projects
  • Monitor, review, and interpret new or revised accounting standards and publications from the FASB, SEC, or FERC, and assist with implementation.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits and SOX reviews, including the preparation and/or review of supporting documentation.
Qualifications

o   Minimum of three years’ experience with utility operations, fixed asset accounting, or comparable business experience preferred.

o   Professional certification encouraged but not required.

o   Detailed knowledge of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Uniform Systems of Accounts and its application is a plus.

o   Experience with PowerPlan fixed asset software is a plus.

·        To hit the ground running, foundational knowledge via a 4-year degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience is required.
