Enemy Swim Day School earned a rebate check for more than $4,200 from Otter Tail Power Company for an energy-efficient lighting upgrade.
In addition to the rebate, the school will save approximately $4,000 a year in energy costs. “And with that savings, this project should be paid back in just over five years,” said Otter Tail Power Company Energy Management Representative Brad Nelson.
The school replaced all of its outdoor metal halide lighting with high-efficiency light-emitting diode (LED) lights. LEDs use less energy and last longer, decreasing maintenance costs. LEDs also provide a bright, white light for nighttime use. “We’ve received clean, crisp illumination and coverage. Our local community has even commented on our new lighting and its brightness,” said Enemy Swim School Facilities Manager Ed Johnson. “We’re very pleased and want to thank Otter Tail Power Company for offering us the rebate to help fund this project.”
