With the help of rebates from Otter Tail Power Company, Fertile-Beltrami School recently completed several energy-efficient upgrades.
Improvements consisted of replacing approximately 900 interior lights with light-emitting diode (LED) technology, adding a new, high-efficiency chiller to provide better space conditioning, and adding energy-efficient motors and variable speed drives to more cost-effectively operate HVAC equipment.
Otter Tail Power Company provided a rebate of $53,400 for these energy-efficient upgrades. “It’s encouraging to see an educational institution take a leadership role in its community when it comes to efficiency and investing in technology to reduce operating costs,” said Otter Tail Power Company Energy Management Representative Roger Garton. “We anticipate rapid payback on these investments as they provide energy- and money-saving solutions for the school.”
