Stay alert and safe during construction 

With spring weather and summer on the horizon, we're approaching peak construction on transmission line work in the Milbank, South Dakota, area. During the next several weeks, we'll upgrade existing infrastructure to continue providing our customers with reliable, low-cost electricity.

We encourage travelers to use extra caution along the high-traffic area of Highway 12. Drivers should:

• Allocate additional time to reach their destinations. 
• Slow down.
• Limit distractions.
• Allow extra space between vehicles. 

“Simple distractions, such as adjusting the temperature or radio, eating and drinking, or using a handheld device, can take your attention off the road and lead to an accident,” said Safety Services Manager Eric Hamm. “Please give yourself extra time and use caution while traveling through the Milbank area and all other work zones to help keep yourself and others safe.”
