What is a commercial water heater?

Commercial water heaters may be designated as light-duty or heavy-duty tank-style water heaters available in sizes greater than 100 gallons. They are best used:

• In businesses with a large amount of hot water usage.
• In businesses that depend on hot water for day-to-day work.
• In residential homes that go through a large amount of hot water.

Benefits of a storage tank water heater

The obvious benefit is the larger size, providing more hot water at the right time. However, when installed as a part of an off-peak system, there are also savings available through lower energy costs and rebates.

Traditionally, commercial water heaters will heat water  up to 180º F, but a lower setting or installation of a mixing valve should be considered for home use to avoid scalding burns.
